Terms of Use

Ten Four Inc. (formerly CrimeFax Inc.) operates the Ten Four / 10-4 mobile application and related services ("Ten Four" or the "App"). References to "Ten Four," "we," "us," or "our" refer to Ten Four Inc.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Ten Four, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App or related services.
2. Informational Use Only
Ten Four provides public safety, crime, incident, and related analytics information for general awareness and informational purposes only. Information in the App may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or subject to change.
3. Not Emergency Services
Ten Four is not a law enforcement agency, emergency service, dispatch service, or real-time emergency alerting system. Ten Four is not a substitute for official government alerts, emergency notifications, or law enforcement services. Do not rely on the App to report emergencies, respond to incidents, or make urgent safety decisions. In an emergency, call 911.
4. No Real-Time Guarantee
We do not guarantee that information shown in Ten Four reflects current or real-time conditions. Alerts, reports, map data, analytics, and notifications may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate.
5. Data Sources
Ten Four may use public records, public safety datasets, freedom of information disclosures, third-party sources, user-configured settings, and internally generated analytics. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or availability of information from any source.
6. Analytics and SafeScore™ Disclaimer
Any analytics, trends, summaries, scores, or safety-related indicators, including SafeScore™, are based on available historical or current data and internal calculations. They do not predict, guarantee, or represent actual safety outcomes for any person, property, address, area, or situation.
SafeScore™ and related analytics should not be relied upon for personal safety, property, financial, insurance, housing, employment, lending, tenant screening, or law enforcement decisions.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to misuse Ten Four or its data. You may not use the App or its information in ways that harass, identify, follow, target, discriminate against, or harm any individual, household, group, or community. You also may not use the App for unlawful, abusive, automated, scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorized commercial purposes.
8. Suspension or Termination
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to Ten Four at any time and without notice if we believe you violated these Terms, applicable law, or used the App in a harmful, abusive, unauthorized, or unlawful manner.
9. No Government Affiliation
Ten Four and Ten Four Inc. are independent and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any police service, law enforcement agency, government authority, emergency service, or public safety agency unless we expressly state otherwise.
10. Intellectual Property
The App, website, design, branding, software, technology, analytics, scoring methods, and related content are owned by Ten Four Inc. or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except as permitted by law or with our written permission, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit any part of the App, website, or related content.
11. Third-Party Services
Ten Four may contain links to or integrations with third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, services, availability, or privacy and security practices of those third parties.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
Ten Four and all related services, information, analytics, maps, alerts, notifications, scores, and content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
Ten Four Inc. disclaims all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, non-infringement, and uninterrupted access or operation.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ten Four Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers are not liable for any damages, losses, claims, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from your use of, inability to use, misuse of, or reliance on Ten Four or information provided through the App.
You are solely responsible for decisions or actions taken based on information provided through Ten Four.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ten Four Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of Ten Four, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.
15. Privacy
Your use of Ten Four is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information.
16. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Ten Four.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted in the App or on our website. By continuing to use Ten Four after updated Terms are posted, you agree to the revised Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
